Lexicon: It’s been a few months since Zenith V, where I kicked my partner and friend, Ryan Chambers, in the head. And every day since then, I’ve been asked “WHY?”
Lex takes a moment as the crowd shows their disapproval.
Lexicon: I’ve known this whole time exactly why. I knew why the moment I did it. Yet, I haven’t told anyone the reason. Ryan Chambers is a great guy, and a great tag partner, and he definitely did not deserve what I did to him. So then why do it?
Lex takes his sunglasses off and hangs them in his jacket pocket.
Lexicon: Ryan, what I did to you was not personal. It was a business decision.
The Crowd erupts again, chanting “bullshit”
Lexicon: When we joined forces, after only the first match we had together, I knew that we were the best Tag Team in the industry. When FPCPP slowed down, I lobbied to bring you into E3 Wrestling, so that we could team up again and capture the E3 Tag Team Championship. But then, I noticed that something wasn’t clicking. I didn’t have that feeling like we were the best anymore. And our loss at Zenith V cemented that for me. Now, I’m not putting the blame for that loss all on you. That’s not what this is about. But it was very apparent that this arrangement wasn’t going to work any longer, and I decided to start my singles return off with a bang. Chambers, you just happened to be the one in the line of fire...
Lexicon is interrupted by Ryan Chambers walking from behind the curtain; clearing his throat into a microphone of his own. Chambers is pacing back and forth, bringing the microphone up to talk, before biting his tongue and shaking his head to regain his thoughts. He finally composes himself, strokes his beard and begins to speak.
Chambers: Lex, “buddy”, I was going to let you come out here, run your mouth and meet you in the back to discuss this like men. After listening to you babble on I figured it'd be best to come out and talk to you in a spot where you can't run, between me and the fans.
Ryan pauses, looks down and begins to speak again.
Chambers: Lex, we've traveled together, shared stories, shared feelings, won some matches and lost plenty of others. Through all that though, we always had each other's back, after the losses we would pick each other back up and try and build ourselves up to the greatness that we knew we could reach. All that stuff isn't business Lex. Those memories, the good and bad are all personal Lex and you better believe what you did to me at Zenith wasn't just business, what you did to me was as personal as you can get. Betrayal is a hell of a thing buddy. You there is usually one side who feels they have done nothing wrong, but on the other side you have someone who has been deeply wronged, sucker punched, stabbed in the back, however you want to word it the bottom line is simple; Lex.. you ruined a friendship for personal gain. That's what this is, this isn't business, it's selfishness. That selfishness began a long time before Zenith and I think we both know that. We didn't reach greatness just because we weren't clicking, we didn't reach greatness because you weren't sacrificing for the right things anymore. You weren't sacrificing for the team, you were sacrificing for the bottle. That's where Ryicon went downhill, when you went from a man to a boy who needed his little bottle. You want to start your singles career with a bang? Well I think I can make that happen. How about at Elimination we both start our singles careers off with a bang? The battle spawned from betrayal, Ryan Chambers vs Lexicon Elimination 2017. Well what will it be Lex, will you be a man, or are you still a sad little boy?
The once calm and rational demeanor on Lex’s face washes off and makes way for saltiness.
Lex: Ryan, the wise thing for you to have done was to accept my reasoning and move on. But that’s not you, and I know you well enough to know that you couldn’t leave well enough alone. Ryan, let me explain something to you that you’ve never, and probably will never, understand. I am the former owner of this company. I am a former E3 WORLD CHAMPION. I’ve seen true success in this business, and I’ve seen true failure. What we had was a failure. I appreciate our friendship, regardless of our failed business venture. And I also feel like I owe you a one-on-one match. I will consider it my first stepping stone back to the E3 World title. But Ryan, if you thought that shot to the back of the head was bad, you have no idea what you’re in for. It’s clear that E3 doesn’t have the capacity for the both of us, and I have no plans to ever leave, pal.
Ryan chuckles to himself
Ryan: See you in Texas... buddy.
Ed Ray: Last year, and Zenith V, I had to take on these two punks by myself and defend these titles. Kenny, I successfully defended these titles. Kenny... now it's time to prove your worth. You're on your own tonight, brother.
Ed Ray walks down the steps and up the ramp to the back, leaving his tag partner to defend the E3 Tag Team Titles on his own...
