Season 8, Episode 1
7/3/2020
Austin, TX
In addition, we will have Grudge Bouts, in which the losing wrestler will LOSE points, creating a high stakes match between foes. There are also Match Modifiers, increasing point reward totals for Main Event and Championship matches. For each match on the recap blog, you'll see each competitor's name, their win-loss-draw record, and their current total points.
Grudge Points are a behind-the-scenes system that dictates the "heat" between two competitors. As time goes on, Events will happen (Pre & Post Match, as well as Interview Segments) that will generate (or even lower) heat between two wrestlers. Once this heat builds to a certain point, a Grudge Bout will be booked. So, when you see a Pre or Post Match Event, or you read an Interview Segment, know that it's affected those involved!
But you've waited long enough, so let's get to some E3 action!
Reward: 5pts
Tiger: Real quick... I know y'all have been waiting a long time for E3 to return, and I don't want you to wait much longer, but before we kick things off tonight... I just wanted to say how much I respect you, Michael Morris. You've got a lot of discipline, and it's obvious how skilled you are in the ring. Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on losing this match, but I do want to give you your props before I put it all out there.
Tiger tosses the mic back out of the ring and bell sounds...

Spiros: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the E3 Tag Team Champions: The Backyard!
The crowd showers the ring with boos.
Spiros: Well, a bit of a sour response from the crowd here tonight in Austin. Gentlemen, your response?
Brax: I don't concern myself with the thoughts and or opinions of these mouth-breathers here in Texas. Luckily for me and my partner here, most of them will die of a coronary disease by the time they're 45 anyway, so they're nowhere on my radar.
Miko: Yeah, the only time they win something here in Texas is when they cheat, anyway. They don't know what it is to be a REAL champion. They don't know what it's like to be us, at all.
Spiros: Come on now, you don't believe that...
Brax: We absolutely do, Spiros. And let me tell you something else we believe: No one... not a single person, is going to give us trouble this season.
Miko: That's right, you see, I've been spending my time going over the possible challengers to the throne, and not one of them has the guts or the nuts to take these titles from around our waists. Not Moose & Mondt. Not SERGE & Fab. Especially not those Texas geeks down in the Dojo. NO. ONE.
Johnny Fab & SERGE appear on the stage as the crowd cheers.
Miko: SPEAKING OF GEEKS. Look at these weirdos ahahaha!
Fab: Miko, Miko, Miko... you weren't hard to find, brother. SERGE and I just followed the grease trail your hair made!
Crowd gets on Miko and starts chanting GREASE-ER! GREASE-ER! GREASE-ER!
Fab: You know, me and SERGE here had a good talk earlier today, and we agreed that everyone's had enough of your bullshit. So, why don't we cut the crap and just give the people what they want right here tonight?
Brax: Wait a damn minute. Are you insisting that we defend OUR titles against you and the circus boy? Are you saying that you guys are qualified to cut in line? Well, as much as I like to scoff at the rules, I arbitrarily like to follow them, and the rules state that you're about... 20pts shy of a title match, bub. So why don't you and Jolt Cola there take off and come back when you've earned it.
Fab: Oh trust me, we'll be back, and when we do come back, we're walking away with those titles. So hold them close, 'cause your days are numbered...

Spiros: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, I'm standing in the ring with the top man in E3 Wrestling; E3 Champion Malik Hussein. Now Malik, you've been able to eclipse your brother, who was an E3 Original, and make the Hussein name even bigger than before. You're still extremely young. Do you worry about burning out too soon?
Malik: Burning out is something I never think about. All my life, I've fought to survive, and it ain't no different here. Nearly 10 years ago, my brother stepped into an E3 ring for the first time and I watched on from the crowd, knowing that someday I'd get my shot. And I knew that when I got my shot, I better not mess it up.
Malik holds up the E3 Championship, as it shimmers under the lights.
Malik: I didn't mess it up. And now, everybody in the back wants a shot. They think that just because they're on the roster, they deserve a shot. Well, I got a news flash for everyone: I don't make those decisions. But I guarantee you this: Every match is a new opportunity for me to cement my legacy. I'm not just a part of the new generation, I AM the new generation. I'm as good as it gets. Whether it be old dogs like Drake Drevus or whether be young pups like someone from the Dojo, I'll put 'em in their place. That's what I get paid to do.
Malik's speech is interrupted Ronny Dugan, who is round, tanned, and clad in face paint.
Dugan: MALIK! I KNOW AND YOU KNOW WHAT I KNOW! YOU KNOW?!
Malik scrunches his eyebrows in confusion.
Dugan: AW YEAAAAAH! YOU KNOW I KNOW YOU'RE THE MAN TO BEAT, AND I KNOW YOU KNOW I'M COMIN' FOR YA!!!
Malik: Look here: I don't know what fumes you inhaled or how many paint chips you ate as a kid, but you're the least of my worries, man. That being said, I'm always down for a scrap, so if you want to back those words up and come test me, I'm good.
Spiros: Woah woah woah, gentlemen. This is NOT sanctioned by E3. Mr. Dugan, if you want a match with Mr. Hussein, it's going to have to wait. And it's probably going to have to wait until you have enough points to challenge for the E3 Championship.
Dugan: SHUT UP, YA NERD! I DON'T NEED PERMISSION TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS! MALIK, KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL, BROTHER! IT'LL BE COMING WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT...
