After careful consideration, the E3 Booking Committee has decided upon a way to crown the first-ever Lightweight Champion! In a statement released this morning, E3 President Gary Gribble explained the decision:
"In order to crown the first Lightweight Champion, we need to find the two best Lightweight wrestlers in E3, and we need to be sure about those two. Because of this, we cannot schedule a title match this early into the season, nor can we predict when exactly we'll know for sure. Therefore, the first two Lightweight wrestlers to make it to 5 wins will be entered into the Lightweight Championship match. Again, it's hard to say exactly when we'll get two 5-win competitors. It could be a month, or it could be two months. One thing we know for sure is this: the next few months of the Lightweight Division are going to be very exciting, to say the least."
The Biggest Get Bigger
It's being reported that Ed Ray, already the largest overall wrestler on the E3 roster, has gained an additional 30 pounds! Some will lose weight and some will gain weight, affecting which Division they wrestle in, but it looks like Ed has doubled down on staying in the Heavyweight Division for a very long time. Ray now weighs in at 360lbs on a 6'3" frame. With a win over his former partner Ken Thibideux this past Monday, Ed Ray is looking like a strong contender for Jerry Brock and the E3 Heavyweight Championship.
