Summers: Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to direct your attention to the middle of this ring, where we have two men who have been a dominating force in the E3 Tag Team division. I have with me Ed Ray and Ken Thibideux, known collectively as the Game Changers. Two-time E3 Tag Champions and the team that finally dethroned The British Fight Society from their two and a half year reign as E3 Tag Champions. But gentlemen, here tonight, we have some issues that need resolving. The E3 Booking Committee refuses to book either of you on a single card, whether together or separately, until you guys come to a decision on whether or not you’re going to remain a team. With that being said, Ed Ray, I’d like to speak to you first. Last year, your partner here, Ken Thibideux, was sent to rehab for 3 months to recover from a cocaine addiction. A very serious issue, no doubt. This left you to defend the E3 Tag Team Championship by yourself, in a handicap match, which you successfully did. Can you talk to us about what was going through your mind at that time?
Ed Ray: Listen close and listen good, ‘cause I ain’t a man that likes to stand around flapping his gums all night. My momma brought me up with the belief that act like a man and handle your business; leave the drama for all dem other folks out there. Kenny here had issues and I told him to go handle those issues like a man, and I’ll go handle the Tag Title defense like a man. Kenny stayed true to his word and he done the rehab, and I stayed true to mine and carried those belts for the team. At Alpha VI, I told Kenny that it was time to show me that he could handle his end of this team and defend the belts by himself, and he lost ‘em to The Backyard. I think it’s real easy to see what my problem is with Kenny right now.
Summers: Kenny, I’ve been wanting to talk to you for a long time now. Your battle with addiction must’ve been a hard battle to fight. Did you think that this is what you’d be coming back to?
Ken Thibideux: I gotta tell ya, Spiros, I’m pretty shocked at the way Ed’s been acting lately. I don’t know if someone’s been in his ear or what. Really, I’d like to think that I know Ed better than that, but I’ve never seen him like this before, so maybe I don’t know him all that well. Yeah, staying at that rehab was tough. Was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to overcome. But what helped me through it was knowing Ed was on the other side, waiting to hit the ring again and continue to do what it is we do best. Hell, I even understand him wanting me to defend the belts on my own for one match. Seems only fair to me. But I lost, and now he’s wanting to throw away 6 years of being a team over one loss.
Ed Ray: Kenny, you wanna play the victim, I’ll go ‘head and make you the victim. Way I see it, you been leaning on me for the past 6 years. I think it’s time we find out who has more success on their own.
Ken: Ed, man… brother. I have never heard you talk like this. Somethin’ ain’t right.
Ed: Oh, everything’s alright, Kenny. Everything’s all good now, ‘cause The Game Changers are a wrap! And I’m go’n give you one last piece of advice, and listen real good, ‘cause it just might save your life: STAY OUT OF MY WAY. Don’t get involved with my matches, don’t try to talk your bullshit to me, don’t call, don’t text, don’t mail me a letter. Don’t even look at me if we happen to pass each other in the hallway or the gym. I will drop your ass. And you know better than everyone else, when I put you down, I’ll put ya down for good. Now take this mic and get out my way....
*Ken stands in the ring next to Spiros looking stunned; almost like a lost child.
Summers: Um… we’ll be back with more action after this...
*Ryan Chambers is out in the ring, warming up for his match with former tag team partner, Lexicon. About a minute goes past without any sign of Lexicon. Another minute goes by, and now Chambers is talking to the ringside attendants, trying to figure out what’s going on. Spiros Summers grabs his microphone and makes an announcement from ringside…
Summers: If I could have everyone’s attention. Due to “travel issues,” Lexicon will not be here to wrestle in his match with Ryan Chambers. We deeply apologize, and as always, card is subject to change. In fairness to Mr. Chambers, E3 Officials have decided to give him the night off and replace their match with a bout between the New Wave Express and Sirifist. Again, we’d like to apologize for this unfortunate situation, and the Booking Committee has promised to reschedule this match for the next big E3 show.
*Chambers is slightly confused, but mostly upset, trying to get more information out of Spiros. Spiros directs him to the back, but Chambers isn’t having it. He rips the microphone away from Spiros…
Chambers: You think you’re slick, Lex? You have them fooled, but I know you’re just ducking me. I kno….
*The sound of the microphone goes out as Chambers is mid-sentence. E3 security come out to escort Chambers to the back, and Chambers reluctantly complies...
